Summer Days

Is it even possible that it is almost JUNE?!?! Yes, yes it is.

I feel like it is time to give you all an update on our family. So many of you reach out each market, whether it be by a sweet smile and a nod of your head or a hug and a pat on the back. Thank you. Thank you for acknowledging our pain and for letting us know you continue to keep us in your thoughts and prayers. If you’re wondering, yes, it helps. As we learn to go on without our sweet girl, we are trying to find a way to continue her legacy. Brad, Kellie and I have become part of the Friends for Life Ambassador Program through Carolina Donor Services. We are very proud to educate the public about organ and tissue donation and to encourage people to become donors. Our goal as a family, and as the members of Lindsay M. Benton Foundation, is to raise awareness of the importance of organ donation, to save lives and to give back to our community in Lindsay’s name. So many of the Makers and Entrepreneurs in our community have reached out to us and plan on supporting us at the first annual LMBF Volleyball Tournament scheduled for September 30th at Capt’n Bills on Market Street. Carolina Donor Services, Pretty in Pink Foundation, New Hanover Special Olympics and NHRMC will all have a presence at the Tournament as well as many local vendors. Be sure to stay up to date on the event through the FB Event Page. We look forward to making this an event worthy of Lindsay’s name. Please feel free to contact us with any questions!

As we plan the summer months at SSM, we decided to start JUNE off with a Pop Up Market! June 10th from 10:00-3:00 will be a fun filled day with fabulous outdoor vendors joining our amazing indoor vendors and yes, once again, some changes inside as well! Amy with The Painted Mermaid will be taking a break from the back room to enjoy the busyness of Southport’s Tourist Season and the summer with her sweet son Tucker. We do look forward to seeing her as a shopper and visiting her in Southport.

Ohhhhh the possibilities of what can happen in that big back room … stay tuned!!

My Own Creation Salad Dressing by Maureen will be available next month, Amy Kennedy will be back with LuLaRoe and Tea Lady Diane will be joining us for a Tea Party! (June 10th happens to be National Iced Tea Day!)

Please be sure to mark your calendar regarding our Summer Hours…we are CLOSED on Sunday’s for JUNE, JULY and AUGUST!

Don’t forget to pop into our POP UP 6/10 and then visit us again the following weekend 6/16 9-3 and 6/17 9-5!

We look forward to seeing you.

Until then … Reuse. Recycle. Restyle.

Kelli 🙂

Wishing you all a Happy Memorial Day, God Bless America and all the Service Men and Women who have given their lives for our freedom.
