It’s funny, when I was a kid, the ONLY place I wanted to shop was the mall…now, I will go ANYWHERE else before heading that way.
I love shopping local and knowing my money is going back into my community. Locally owned businesses usually purchase from locally owned businesses, and they also donate more to local charities. If you think about it, your community is defined by the businesses that reside there, they make you feel more satisfied with where you live. Wilmington,NC has a ton of small, local businesses. Leland, NC could really use more…there are several shops in Wilmington that generate the quality shopping a locally owned business creates, our goal at Seaglass is to get that vibe in Leland…in Brunswick County and I think we are on our way. Seaglass Salvage Market brings a bunch of vendors together under one roof, local vendors who buy and sell from each other, who know each other, and it creates a small town feel. We buy from local shops and local shop owners visit us each month. Friendships have formed, customers return and like being referred to by name when they walk in…this is not customer service you would find at the mall or any Big Box Store.
We have been sharing the names, products and Facebook Pages of our Vendors because we want you to put a face to the name. We don’t sell “brands,” we are local people who are making our dreams come true by creating and marketing ourselves in our own communities. Artists, artisans and craftsmen who happen to live next door, or right over the bridge, waiting to be discovered one local consumer at a time. If you want to know more about what you can find at Seaglass, please follow our Facebook page, but better yet…mark your calendar for the 3rd weekend of every month and head to Leland and see whats new. I promise you…its worth the trip!
Next market: Friday Sept 18 9-5, Saturday Sept 19 9-5, and Sunday Sept 20 12-5. 1987 Andrew Jackson Hwy., Leland, NC 28451 www.seaglasssalvagemarket.com, we really hope to see you there!
