I was like a Momma leaving her baby for the first time this past weekend, and the outcome was the same, everyone survived just fine! I am blessed to work with an amazing group of people, they pulled together and got it all done (actually, more than when I am there to assist as they even defrosted the freezer for me! Told you they were awesome.) Not being at Seaglass for the May Market did make me realize something, SSM is not a bunch of individuals who all happen to sell out of the same building. We are a unit, a group…a well oiled machine. A family.
SSM is quite the diverse group, and what I love most is that none of it matters. We come together each month and make a dusty old warehouse look beautiful by filling it with beautiful things… different colors, styles and ideas. We look forward to seeing each other and enjoy spending time together. Seaglass Salvage Market is kinda like going to Grandma’s for supper on Sunday. Even if your tired and don’t want to go you’re always happy you went. We joke, and play and laugh. We catch up and talk to each other and sometimes about each other (yes, it happens…we can have up to 28 people in that warehouse at one time, there’s going to be disagreements!), we pick on each other and 2 seconds later stick up for each other and we wouldn’t want it any other way.
It’s easy to see we are not your typical business, just our days/hours alone are totally out of the norm. Our venue is well, different to say the least…but there’s something else too, do you feel it when you walk in? It’s the mood, the tone, the atmosphere our crazy group creates. When a contrasting group gets together and finds a common ground and works hard to make it work…good things are going to happen, and they are. We feel it in the air, we see it in the continued growing traffic and we listen to your feedback.
I wasn’t at the May Market, but I heard through the grapevine, it was a good one. I really missed not making it to Grandma’s this weekend, I won’t miss it again 🙂 Hope to see you June 17th 9-3 and June 18th 9-5 (we will not be open on Sunday!)
